UNT Kicks Some Cajun Ass

We sauntered into the Super Pit with our breath smelling like Street Tacos from Taco Cabana. Still feeling the lingering effects of a very happy new year’s eve and a pickup soccer game at ten in the morning, we decided not to sit in our usual seats near the guy who brings his kids to every game.

From our view from on high I saw a kid bitching about how he wanted pizza. I wanted to throw him into George Dunham. I don’t have anything against Georgio, he just makes a good target.

I also saw our basketball team take care of some business. We are really good. Good enough to dominate the Sun Belt. North Texas came into the game favored by 12 points or so, and won by 17.

It was a very North Texas-y game. Toss in a little Josh (no pun intended, but pun appreciated), and a little Tristan and add role players for flavor.

George Odufuwa was out after rolling his ankle in shoot around, but really, we didn’t miss him too much. In fact, maybe JJ Thomas decided to pretend like GO was inside defending the shit out of him to make it all fair. I mean if you toss up a donut on nine shots you are going to be an easy target for box score watchers.

You really can’t blame ULL too much. They are just not as good as Johnny Jones’ squad. We have better players who played good, solid games.

It is an amazing time for North Texas basketball. Let me quote STATS LLC to show you:

It was the 15th straight home victory for the Mean Green (13-2, 2-0 Sun Belt), who are 10-0 at the Super Pit this season. It is also North Texas’ 13th consecutive win over a Sun Belt Conference opponent.

It’s sign-making time.

So who is next? We go to Middle Tennessee on the Wednesday, the 5th. They play South Alabama Sunday in their first dip in the cool waters of conference play.
