Picking Week 7

I spent my bye week morning making (bad) music. The rest of my day is going to be spent going to parties. Not the shots shots shots type, but the 50th birthday type.

Update: Games were played. Let’s see how I did

Let us predict some CUSA games today:

MTSU v WKU Pick ’em / 75.5

It opened as a MTSU -2 but now has moved. I think WKU wins this in a close one, just based on the weird feeling I had this morning. For fun, I’ll take the UNDER here.

Actual: WKU won 44-33 in Double OT. They had a chance to win it in regulation, but Mike White’s dive for the end zone was short. They kicked a FG and tied it. I would have won the over/under if they had won in regulation.

UMASS +17 v Louisiana Tech / 63.5

UMASS has been getting beat up all season. I’ll take La Tech and the points. Also, another UNDER.

Actual: La Tech won 56-28 and so I won the straight bet but lost the over/under.

Charlotte +3 v FIU / 53

I am somewhat impressed with FIU and I think they’ll continue to roll under their new coach. I’ll take FIU and the points and the OVER.

Actual: FIU won 27-26 in a comeback win. I lost the straight bet and the over/under is a push.

Marshall -13 v FAU / 61

This seems high doesn’t it? Marshall will win this but not by 13. Give me FAU to cover. Also, Marshall only managed 14 offensive points last week. UNDER

Actual: Marshall won this 27-21. IT was a close game and Marshall was down entering the fourth quarter. I win the bet and the over under. Woot.

Rice +3 v UTSA / 54

This opened as Rice -1.5, which was kind of hilarious. Here is the thing: there is no rational explanation for why I will take Rice here, aside from the fact that they are not as bad as they’ve looked and UTSA is not as good as they looked in those two games at home (ASU/SoMiss). OVER, but barely.

Actual: Rice missed an extra point in the first quarter and a field goal late that would have won this with a minute to go. That’s how you go 0-6. I win the bet, but lose the over/under. This game was offensively offensive. Neither team was +5.7 yards per play.

LSU -18 v Southern Miss / 57

After everything that happened this week, there is no way LSU does not come out and destroy Southern Miss. But by more than 18? Is that a thing I belive? Yes it is. LSU, and the OVER.

Actual: As I am typing this, LSU is up 45-10. It was tied at halftime but LSU was not having it passed that. I win the straight bet but lose the over/under unless two more points are scored. There are 5 min left in the game.

Totals: 4-1 ATS, 1-3 over/under as of this writing.
