I think you guys just caught them at the wrong time. I've said since last year that this Tx Tech team has a ton of skill position talent, and they have excellent defensive coaching. Their game last week was the Pac 12 After Dark late game and I'm still confused about what I saw -- they lost because their offensive playcalling was atrocious, almost like the offense was designed for an injured QB without a running game since their star RB was out (their QB1 Morten was injured last season and apparently was having shoulder issues last week plus they were without the RB).

Either their Offensive Coordinator had an epiphany this week on how to play call and make adjustments or he got read the riot act by their HC. They would have won last week if they'd run the plays they did today.

Morris was just abused in the first half and that little period in the 2nd quarter was a kid doing his best not to panic and completely fall apart. The WRs to your point didn't do any favors basically playing volleyball with a lot of the passes.

Luckily in the 2nd half Tech called off the dogs and got their younger players in. It's a little unnerving that their 2nd and 3rd string basically continued to hold UNT in check but I believe they've had the top Big 12 recruiting class the past couple of years so those backups were quality players too.

Anyway, my initial point was that I think this TT team is far better than advertised and far better than they looked the first two weeks, talentwise anyway. Now that their cobwebs appear to be off I'd be surprised if they don't make noise in their conference and I think UNT's offense will make some noise in conference as well.

It was just a bad time to catch them when their OC opened up their playcalling and their players felt like they had something to prove.

I’ll be there next weekend and every home game thereafter. Agree on part of the next level is unconditional support. Tech has not done a lot of championship hunting, yet The Jones is consistently full and considered a tough place to play.

Hoping we learn some lessons today and this week and come out fighting against Wyoming.
