The book on North Texas’ defense is that it cannot stop the run. Some teams have had success passing, and in some second-half situations the Mean Green have stopped the run. Last week in the first quarter and this week in the entire first half the book was right. UTSA ran and ran and ran some more. The main difference between the previous two weeks and this one was that Chandler Rogers’ offense was not as magical. Whereas there were streaks of TDs last week (three, and four) in this one NT couldn’t muster that kind of threat.
