North Texas Basketball is 2-7, In A Tailspin

Tonight the Hoops Squad dropped their 7th in a row, all against Div 1 competition. The team again looks like a turnover-filled, offense-averse team under Tony Benford. The program is far from the one that regularly competed for Sun Belt titles and made the occasional NCAA tournament.

It wasn’t too long ago that North Texas was on the same level as UT-Arlington. Now they are getting handled at Cedar Park Center. Not long after getting swept in our own tournament and having a player quit, UNT was blown out three straight times. The final game Benford called the worst he’s seen us play. They managed to once more tonight by only 8.

Tony Benford’s only hope for fixing his image with North Texas fans was a competent 2015-2016 season. His team has not beat a D-1 opponent and not even UTSA looks weak enough to provide an easy ‘W’.

Somebody put out this raging dumpster fire and restore North Texas basketball to some semblance of quality.
