Lance! 105 Yards v Dolphins

I remember my first sight of Lance Dunbar. It was on NCAA 09 (I think) where he was lined up at fullback. I remember seeing him for the first time in person. He busted out with a 66-yard TD against MTSU (the team against whom he ended his career with a 313 yard 4 TD effort).

It is kind of funny that he basically introduced himself to Cowboys fans with a similar run: up the middle for 58 yards. Boom.

This is the guy that finished his career as North Texas’ all time leading rusher.

Lance Effin’ Dunbar.

I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of the Cowboys roster, nor do I pretend to know how much of a chance Jamize Olwale and Lance Dunbar have of being named to the 53-man roster on Friday. I do know that it was awesome seeing a all North Texas backfield for America’s Team. I am happy for Brian Waters, Craig Robertson, Patrick Cobbs and all the other guys that have played professionally post-Mean Green but I doubt they made as much an impression as Lance and Jamize did this preseason.

The power of the star and all that .

I mean, just look at this:

Right? It’s good to be Green tonight, ya’ll.

Here’s hoping the dude gets as spot on the roster (Jamize Olawale, too!) and we get to see more of that this season.

Go Mean Green. Go Cowboys.
