Defending the Run with a Spread-Stopping Defense

This is interesting. Skladany’s North Texas defense is a base 4-3. The weakness is in the secondary when it gives up long passes. When it is good, it is suffocating. When it isn’t so good, it is frustrating. This year has had more of the latter.

It used to be that the spread offense was the unusual offense on your schedule that messed up all your defensive plans. Now it is the power run game. Times. They are a-changin’.
