2021 Frisco Football Classic: North Texas vs Miami of Ohio

UPDATE: Ticket Link below:

As a youth I had fond memories of family, fun, and football — specifically the Frisco Football Classic on television. Think of the famous names who have graced the fields in Frisco in classic battles.

Okay, no one has ever played in there because it is new, created to allow Hawaii to get into the Hawaii Bowl and also avoid the conundrum of having too many eligible teams and too few bowls. Given ESPN Events is basically the Bowl system, they simply created a new one. Well, actually they simply replaced a previously existing one. The San Francisco Bowl was cancelled and in its place: The Frisco Football Classic. It even has ‘frisco’ in the name!

It is so new it doesn’t even have a generic logo like all the other generic logos. Last season there were some made-up bowls in part because of the pandemic. This is the way of things. Embrace it and buy a ticket.

Miami of Ohio is 6-6 and so are the Mean Green. The Redhawks finished third in the MAC against the run (4 yards per carry) and NT ran for about 4.87 per pop. We will have more analysis later, but for now, get your tickets … somewhere.

UPDATE:

We have a logo now and more details:

Quote from Wren Baker:

“We are honored to be selected to play in the Frisco Football Classic. This is a tremendous opportunity for our fans to show the country what makes the Mean Green Family special with a big turnout for a game in our backyard, and a chance for our program to continue building on its strong finish to the season.”

Side note: the Torrey Shirt should be out and to you before the bowl game so you can sport it at the game.
