UTEP is so far away and has little hate for us or us for them. They are a Texas team, and so there there is competition for Texas recruits. Still, the New Mexico schools are more of the UTEP concern than anything east of Fort Stockton usually.

Important Things:

UTEP’s basketball team is much better than their football team, although they are looked like they were going to improve under Sean Kugler.  Alas, he was fired this year. The new administration has to be hired before a coach is, and so the rumored Graham Harrell move is just an internet rumor. When they are on they are well-supported and a Texas school, they pose a threat to the Mean Green. Don’t sleep on them. Especially not in El Paso, as they have won three straight against NT with poorer teams than NT has run out.
