ESPN: Skullduggery with Mike Leach and Seth Littrell

One of the best parts of college football are the stories about bending the rules a little. This from Jake Trotter at ESPN.com is a great tale of the time Mike Leach — with the help of current NT head coach Seth Littrell — planted a fake play script and almost stole the game.

There are appearances by current Texas St. head coach Everette Withers, and current Texas coach Tom Herman. Here is the video of the game, where you can see Texas bumble about in the first quarter. If you just want to see Littrell get some touches, he gets a little sweep handoff at the 7:00 minute mark and then gets the ball in a pass to the flat. He gained three yards.

Summertime

It has been a relatively news-free summer for the football program and all things considered, that is a good thing. Coaches are famously drama-averse and the lack of off-field issues will make preparing for the new season much easier. Of course, the paranoid among us will be concerned that maybe things are going too smoothly.…
