Game Plan for Victory
How UNT will win:
North Texas will win by focusing their offense on what they think they are good at. Dan McCarney wants to run the ball yet the offense has gotten away from the run game in crucial situations. For all the questions about the quarterback position, the sneaky unproductive phase has been the running game. Against poor run defenses it has been great. Against all others it has been mediocre.
The quarterbacks in this offense are supposed to provide constraint plays — those things that keep the defenses honest and let the running backs do the heavy lifting. Perhaps it is he overriding desire to get the ball to Carlos Harris that is preventing the offense from being better? Overall it hasn’t been bad just not as good as it could be.
I mean, it could be worse. It could be SMU or UTSA level bad.
